Strength and fitness coach
Angela Douglas is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, who moved to Orcas Island, WA in 2006. She married her best friend, Thaddeus Douglas in 2007, and purchased Orcas Athletics in 2008. She is Owner/General Manager of Orcas Athletics and also Owner/CF-L1 Trainer of Orcas CrossFit. She looks after, coordinates, manages and leads her team providing ways to stay healthy; mind, body and spirit. She is a firm believer in exercise and the therapeutic powers of massage.
Angela is no stranger to the fitness industry, having spent time working for two athletic centers prior to purchasing OAC. She has had the pleasure of experiencing many different aspects in the world of business. In the late 1990’s, Angela became a marketing manager for fortune 500 companies. Over the next 8 years, she moved onto sales, customer relations, and even dabbled in the cosmetology industry. All of these experiences have guided her here. Although it wasn’t until her car accident that she found a true love for the little things we take for granted. Being faced with the possibility of never walking again has made her appreciate health and fitness to the fullest.
Angela has always been passionate about helping others to overcome personal challenges. It was important to her to connect with a non-profit agency that shares this drive. So in early 2014, Angela joined the Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Services board of directors, where she currently serves as Board President. Angela is committed to the agency and dedicated to its mission of changing lives for the better.
When Angela is not in the gym working or working out, you can find her taking walks with her daughters Isabella and Khalia, cooking up some Cajun dish for Thaddeus in her kitchen, or back home in Louisiana getting some good ole’ southern R&R!
